Like a bridge over troubled waters 2003-05-24 11:46 a.m. Yes, yes that's what Clay Aiken sang for the finals, stop booing all you Studdard Fans... This entry is actually a side note, to recall all the events of the past few weeks... May 12th to May 17th: I felt abandoned and left alone during the course of that whole week. Tuesday was Grace’s birthday, and I felt bad not buying her a present like I did for Nicholas.A04 was selected for the Singapore Lecture, which was some seminar with Gerhard Schroeder as the Guest of Honour. He was making a world wind tour of Asia trying to forge good relations with ASEAN and China after his hard line anti- war stance. So the humanities class was dressed up in their best (School formal uniform if you are wondering) and whilst they were listing to his booming German, I was at PE. How lucky could one get, I love such conferences but don't always get the chance to attend them. Then at 1530 hours, a terrible headache struck me, and it almost felt your mind was being fried by some sort of torture machine. I adjourned to the library and sat opposite my old friend Ying Ci and his class mate Tammy. Tammy was wrapped ( and I mean literally wrapped) in Ying Ci's ACS (I) sports jacket. How sweet, Mr. He, taking care of someone. I wished I had friends like that. Just when I thought my headache was getting better, some big giant planted his body opposite me, obstructing my view. No, he didn't bother to budge when I told him to do so ,and I was the one who had to change seats. People just don't show any consideration for me... Thursday: I was stuck at home working on Miss Champagne's assignment. Something wrong with that? Well it was Lucas birthday, and he was off to the Polo Club celebrating with his class. Lucas Neo, the first friend I met in NJC. Incidentally, we had a surprise test on Sylvia Plath by Mr. Dio on Friday(23rd of May) and Lucas was the top scorer for that test. Mind you, it was on the flowers and other images in Plath, and at least I got some right. However, the point is that Mr. Dio's prize was a bunch of six roses(yes red roses) and Lucas happily accepted it and passed them to Marianne. You should have seen the reaction of the whole LT,how so sweet, Mr Neo. I just others would be like that to me. Saturday: Third time I was abandoned was after the wonderful UN Seminar at Meritus Mandarin. Wonderful in that we got to taste the famous chicken rice, which according to Mr. Chan, was just OK.I found myself at 1900 hours in Lido theatre 1 starring at Keanu Reeves stopping bullets in mid air. Yes, can you believe it, watching the Matrix Reloaded alone? A04 (yet again) oragnised a whole class outing to watch the same show at 2145 hours (it was deborah's birthday) but since I'm not part of that elite clan, so I had to venture out alone. What a week. It does reflect the line "and I don't wanna to be alone" in the Bee Gees song "Alone". Now, I am still alone. The house Reps are holding a camp for the incoming youngsters( and it reminds me of my old scout camps minus the marching--yes with push ups) and the whole school is alive and I 'm stuck in the library... I end of with the song I just mentioned--"Alone" ALONE By The Bee Gees I was a midnight rider on a cloud of smoke I could hear you breathing with a sigh of the wind And all the wonders made for the earth So I'll play, I'll wait Well, since I got no message on your answer phone I'm on a wheel of fortune with a twist of fate And is there glory there to behold So I play sha la, I'll wait sha la And all the wonders made for the earth Gone but not out of sight And sooner or later you'll be cruising on your ocean
