I can think of younger days 2003-06-16 3:02 p.m. It's a wonderfully short holiday to cramp lots of Facts (oh how I love to capitalise it like Dickens) into my head. However, it’s not worth arguing against the system; just try to make the best of it. I just found a great site where one can download songs from the 1950s onwards. Relives my childhood days where every lunch time my mother would tune in to Class 95.0 FM and the rock and roll of her era would go on for at least 2 hours. Songs by the Bee Gees, Elvis Presley, the Supremes, Simon and Garfunkel would flood my ears so much that I would be singing them to my classmates after that. They would stare at me and ask if I was from outer space. Ha-ha. Why am I writing this? Well the other night I was fired questions by dear Lucas over Rock Music. I unfortunately claimed that I was an expert on Rock from the 1960s and 70s and could only answer one of his questions. I surrender, Mr. Neo, I only listen to songs and hardly remember their titles or who wrote them. On another note, we were discussing our old school days and how we both missed the chapel services. It is so ironic, back then I dreaded the hour long chapel services and tried my very best to stay awake, lest the discipline master would catch me. Now, those days have faded away. To re live the memories, I searched for all the hymns that I use to sing. Ah, the nostalgia. Lucas asked me if ACS was a much better school? Well, that cannot be answered just yet. I will have to go through another four months (well less than that) Of NJC life, another four months of mock exams, prelims, A levels and other enriching yet dreary events that will propel me on my way to my future. Another lot of interactions with people on a daily basis, another round of friendships, laughter, pain and of course Prom Night before I can answer that. However, as I have said before, there's always some sense of yearning for yesterday when you hear the familiar words "In days of yore...” PS. the Title is also a line from on of my favourite Bee Gees songs--"How can you mend a broken heart" I can think of younger days
And how can you mend a broken heart?
How can you mend this broken man?
I can still feel the breeze
And how can you mend a broken heart?
How can you mend this broken man?
