Don't let the sun go down on me 2003-07-05 5:37 p.m. Common tests are over! No cheering though must wait for the dreaded results... This entry has many meanings to it. JC life has been much more than what I have expected. Not only has it created many challenging experiences, but it has provided a host of new opportunities for me. I guess that with the A levels around the corner, I must be thankful for what the school has provided me. Friends have been a pain sometimes, but they have been a great help when facing the many difficulties in the course of last and the first half of this year. Friendships were never smooth, and at times we got on each others nerves. However, looking at it from another perspective, we should bee grateful to have all these mates showering us with their laughter, their pains and their advice. Of course, there are others who simply ignore you and run away from you. You know that you have done absolutely no wrong and despite your constant efforts to gain their trust, they simply loath you and isolate you. You become the person left out and feel as if the world has turned against you. The world is never perfect, yet why bear the grudge for so long? The past should be placed aside, and differences worked out. Then again, if disputes can never be solved, there is simply no hope. What then do you do? Do not suffer the rest of your life wondering what went wrong. Never dread over such things when you know deep down in your heart that you are right. You may not have been the best in every area, you may not have shone in any way, but you are who you are. You have other friends who will support you and understand you. You don't really need to fret over the lost of comradeship with people when you have others. You gain strength through every experience and the best thing to do is learn from it. Never let yourself be defeated or display any weakness. I have faced life with a positive attitude. Now with more problems lying ahead, one should never let yourself feel down. Never say that this is the end of the road. One day you will shine and say, "See what others said was wrong". There is no arrogance in this at all. Trying to prove others right is not always the correct thing to do. Work for your goals, live your dreams and you will be fine. On this note, thanks to all those friends who made my JC life less miserable and more bearable. Never let the sun go down on me.
