About Me

The writer is currently an Undergraduate at the University of Birmingham, UK. Clarifications and visions

2003-09-24 9:15 p.m.

The reason why this entry is not named "sidenotes 3" is because there’s going to be lots (well actually some) things to clear up with individuals and society in general and ideas to expose:

Clarification 1:

I'm updating my diary at this time because although I promised myself not to write anything until after the A levels, I actually meant after this stretch of the "war", that is the prelims. I've got some burning issues that best be expressed in words and I need some time to relax before I enter the next "battle"--the real one that is.

Clarification 2:

As mention in my entry "This is and is not what it is all about", I mentioned that my diary readership is small. Of course, I'll expand it as time goes by, when I find more people who are mature enough to understand my entries. Until then, the population will remain as it is, and everything will also be copyrighted and belong only to me. (Call it monopoly power if you like). This is not a warning to anyone in particular, but just to say that I hold certain contempt when others borrow my phrases with out my permission. I am that sort of selfish person, I'm sorry.

Clarification 3:

There have been certain changes to my diary for those who know how to enter it. For one, there is increased security, so as to keep unwanted influences (and people) out. Nothing personal here, but those who know me (especially through my GP essays) know that I am a strong supporter of Internet protection. On this note on more privacy, it would seem ironic that there’s a Tag Board on the bottom right hand corner of the "older" page. It's just my attempt at getting some form of communication with my readers, so that I can improve my writing and change my style (if you suggest so). Of course, the standard procedures apply when posting your entries

, leave your name (your first name at least), your contact and try not to be overly critical inn your comments. You know how I am with such comments. This is after all a trial run with a Tag Board so it could just be temporary.

Clarification 4:

There really isn't anything to criticize me when I hang out with other people, from other classes. It’s not as if my classmates don't do it. Due to the size of the Arts Faculty in NJ, it has become a natural tendency for us poor souls to interact with each other. Is there such a thing as over socializing and over indulgence in others? I don't believe so. We humans just have an unconscious instinct in finding warm friendship in any place, and when we discover it, we hang on to it and ignore everything else, including the individuals who we are suppose to have more interaction with. I not saying that’s what I’m doing now, however, I’m clearing up certain misconceptions of life and relationships that people have.

Visions:

That’s enough of clarifications for the while. This diary is in a mess, just like my room, with notes in piles, but all over the floor. The more common case for people would be to have their notes in a mess all over the place, but I guess I must have followed Mr. Dio’s advice and fill my room with my notes and readings, such that when I turn in a certain direction I know that’s where my history two notes are, and when I turn in another direction, I find my economics textbook there. Have never used this form of revision technique before, let’s see whether it works. However, I’m digressing. What I meant to say was that I’ll do a mass editing of entries like “once more you open the door”, “Reminiscences”, and “Literature and life”. I will add some entries on debate, canoeing, and will final get down to write my German Immersion Program experience back when I was secondary three. Let’s see what else? Oh yes, a series of entries on my scouting life. Note that these will take time to develop and require loads of brain power as these events are around more than three years old. Perhaps it would be more appropriate to write about these after the A levels. Also entries on scholars and scholarships, the NJC arts faculty and my NJ life. These would be more controversial in tone and slightly biased but no one’s going to stop me. Tributes to my class and other classes will finish the list. OK, that’s enough of wishful thinking.
