Summer Holiday 2003-12-29 11:14 p.m. Yes, a summer holiday. While almost everyone I know ventured north, I spent a week in the land of kangaroos, wallabies and pretty girls. Ok, only in Sydney, but still everything was hot, from the temperature to the people (I mean the opposite sex). Ok, no, I did not pick up any girl if that’s what you are thinking. Watched the start of the Sydney to Hobart yacht race. Pretty normal, but it was hard to get a good view. Did a tremendous amount of shopping—I never knew I could move around that much—and bought quite a bit of stuff. Clothes mainly. Saw some interesting objects that I could have bought back for CH as a Christmas joke but decided not to. There was one day that I thought I saw Grace amidst the sea of faces but did not bother to approach that person. Seven days in Australia was not that bad after all and I did get a white (sunny) Christmas. Anyway, you’ll probably be asking, where are my promised recollections of my JC life? I’ve decided to place it in a separate diary: http://meinwelt.diaryland.com so as not to mix it up with present day entries here. Furthermore, it will take quite a while to write everything—I’ve to try a recollect the details of two years. Naturally, there will be mistakes and references which should not be there but hopefully most of the stuff will be accurate. Naturally, there will be bias, but no extreme criticism of any individual or organization. Before reading it, you should not expect it to be a life story—if I wanted to write that, I’ll probably be into my own biography—nor should you expect it to be a detailed account of an NJCian’s life. It will be just something to capture events and poignant moments of my JC life. Besides all that, I’ve got quite a bit to do. One book from my original book list will be changed due to the fact that I can’t find that book. It’s Archer’s Sons of Fortune—see my pervious entry. I’ll probably replace it with Dale Brown's Wings of Fire. Yup, that’s it. I must say that 2003 has been an action packed year for me, but I see no change in that for 2004. I won’t paste my New Year’s Resolutions here but will try to keep to them.
