A short review and stuff

2007-01-07 5:44 p.m.

Caught a show at West End when I was down in London—The Producers. In one sentence, it is akin to that of Avenue Q, only more hilarious at some bits. The difference is that when you listen to the soundtrack of the Producers, you don’t laugh straight away and you have to picture the scene movements. For Avenue Q, the songs themselves contain humour. And well, Avenue Q is a little more blatantly crude than the Producers.

Stage movement and scene movement were top notch excellent, with no shadowy figures appearing to shift props or the background around. Captures the audience straight away with a plot that is typical of scheming men and yet turning out to be super funny at every corner. Songs as mentioned, needed the complement of the scene and actors in order to be fully appreciated but were excellent as original compositions. The best part was perhaps each actor’s movements and the scene with the German birds whose wings could move and had Nazi armbands around them. I’m amazed that the actor who played Max Bialystock could hold the tunes of songs of different range, that is, extremely high and low notes.

I’m proceeding with another extremely long essay/entry titled “Enemy Identification”. I state essay because its going to be my biggest entry on world/current affairs yet and I may have second thoughts on actually posting the entire piece on line, because of its content. (You should catch my drift). I may end up posting part of it or a draft of it. See how lah.
