Back and ready as ever before

2007-06-04 11:17 p.m.

Wow wee, what a bunch of exams. Not, unlike previous times, I’m not going to launch into an analysis or description of every exam. Still, here are some bits of what I discovered:

1) Unexpected help appears in various quarters. What you learn must be unlearnt. (So Yoda like)

2) All that glitters is not gold. What I sought after from Karl Polanyi’s classic The Great Transformation was rather found in his other text The Livelihood of Man

3) I finally found a copy of "The Great Transformation" and was delighted to noted that the foreword was written by none other than Joseph Stiglitz himself. So my favourite economist wrote a foreword for a new edition of my favourite Political Economist's most famous text

4) The UCU can and did appear. I leave it up to you to decipher what that means.

5) What I guess would come out did come out.

Yeah, there are other things but that’s what I can gather at the top of my head. So I’m back in the wonderful world of online writing (I told you I don’t like the other word starting with “b”) and will write with a vengeance. Not bad, stopping writing for more than a month actually let’s you clear your mind and picture what future entries should be in and how they should be structured. Still, I’m planning to travel to Europe (if I can get a flight) and finally get down to sightseeing. For you guys and girls still in Singapore, I’ll be home soon so keep days free for me so I can gorge down food I haven’t exactly touched for close to a year. Then if all goes well, there’s a short internship waiting for me and a summer which will be hot.
