Amazement * 2008-03-20 7:39 p.m. I’m bored with writing about what happened for the past few months so let me place it in a different style. Simply, I’m amazed: At Stacey. Yes really (I wonder whether she’s reading this). There’s so many things about her that I’m amazed at. It just can’t elaborated here but yeah… At Heather’s friend pancakes. They were so yummy. Well it was Shrove Tuesday (which I didn’t know that this day existed until this year). The secret, as I guessed, was in the great non stick pan and the batter. By myself. Yeah, well self praise. Conquering 16,000 words or so. Good preparation for next year’s dissertation At the talks/seminars that I attended this year. I should have discovered them last year though. First was Alex Callinicos on Marxism (which seemed nothing that new from what I’ve studied). Then was Leonard Seabrooke, who engaged the audience by asking them to guess the names of famous IPEians which he flashed on the screen. Sadly, I couldn’t guess any answer but boy am I going to buy his book. The third was the UNYSA conference where all UNYSA branches congregated and engaged with numerous speakers, including Sir Richard Jolly, who gave an enriching talk on the MDGs. At admitting in front of my whole Political Analysis class that I tend towards postmodernism. I do believe many tenets of postmodernism/poststructuralism, but if I’m a full fledged postmodernist, how can I hold on to other ideas such as growth? Oh, and Dr. Bates said that it didn’t matter what sort of political scientists we admitted to be, it wouldn’t affect our grades. Oh, ok. Hmm…. At how the next UNA Birmingham committee is just as international as the previous, with members ranging from India to Finland. Good luck guys At how bureaucracy and rigid rules change everything Uh that’s it I think…on to another entry…..
